THE IMPORTANCE OF PILLARS

THE IMPORTANCE OF PILLARS
A pillar is an essential part of something that provides support.
Pillars are very important, without pillars no one dares to build a house.
A pillar could also be seen as an altar or a monument.
My focus today is Personal Altars or Pillars. Personal Altars are very important. Any man without an Altar is yet to understand the place of deep intimacy and fellowship with the Father. No wonder, many believers today don't know God for themselves, they only know what someone told them about God and about the Bible. That's why so many Christians are easily deceived and led astray. Jacob in Gen.28:17-19 (17 He was afraid and said, How to be feared and reverenced is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gateway to heaven!
18 And Jacob rose early in the morning and took the stone he had put under his head, and he set it up for a pillar (a monument to the vision in his dream), and he poured oil on its top [in dedication].
19 And he named that place Bethel [the house of God]; but the name of that city was Luz at first.) He encountered God and right there he raised a Pillar; he built an Altar and called it Bethel. Right there, he vowed and made a covenant with God. It is in the place of personal fellowship with God that we make covenants and commitments to the LORD and equally receive grace to fulfill them. We encounter God in Altars', that's a secret place.

God recognises Personal Altars, in fact He is longing to meet you in your secret place, no wonder, in Gen. 31:13(I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you vowed a vow to Me. Now arise, get out from this land and return to your native land.) God appeared to Jacob in the name of the Pillar he had earlier erected and in the vow He vowed. Wow! What a connection! So God honours Personal Altars like this. God looks forward to our vows to Him. Imagine how assured Jacob must have felt when he heard that. Imagine how excited and joyful he could have felt hearing God mention those things to him. I love God.
So many people, even some Christians have made so many things and erected different Altars but not in the name of the LORD. Even unbelievers have Altars, that's where they manipulate and frustrate destinies from, as a believer, if you don't have an Altar you are deceiving yourself ooo, the enemy will frustrate you from his/her dubious altar.
So, what Pillar have you anointed before God? What covenant have you made with Him that stands as a memorial before Him that He can actually appear to you in the name of that Pillar, Covenant or Vow? Erect an Altar for the LORD today so that He can relate with you as a person on personal terms. God is looking forward to that. Your Personal Altar can be time you dedicate to the LORD everyday, it can be a day that you set aside, for fasting, evangelism, visitation etc.
Have a blessed week.
Peaceable Peace
