The prominence of the Holy Spirit

By Peace Wobo

There is no course, subject or topic that is as interesting, educating, encountering and empowering as the subject or topic of the Holy Spirit. Learning about the Holy Spirit is priceless, it's invaluable and mind blowing. When you study about Him with an open mind, you can never remain the same.

As born again Christians, we know that we can’t do without the Holy Spirit. There is no way we can successfully run this race without the Person of the Holy Spirit.
Most people are confused about the person of the Holy Spirit, some call Him a force, some call Him a dove and some call him so many other things. So, before talking about the prominence of the Holy Spirit in the Bible, I will first reveal His person to us.
From the very beginning, the Holy Spirit was referred to as the "Spirit of God" in the Bible until He was revealed as the "Holy Spirit" in Psalms 51:11 "Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me".  So stop thinking that the Holy Spirit is a force that came into play in the New Testament. He has always been there as the third Person of the Trinity. You can see that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.
In the King James Version Bible, 1 John 5:7 reads: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one". He is the third Person of the Trinity.
That been said with Bible references that cannot be argued or altared, let's then proceed to His prominence in Bible.

THE PROMINENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE BIBLE

His prominence in the Bible:
23 books of the Old Testament expressed the Holy Spirit 88 times. In the New Testament, he was mentioned 264 times. 60 or more references in the Gospel, Acts has 57 references which is why some call it Acts of the Holy Spirit. The Epistles refers to the Holy Spirit 153 times. Only 3 Epistles did not mention the Holy Spirit (Philimon, 2nd and 3rd John)

Look forward to the prominence of the Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus.
