What you never knew about the Sabbath Day

Your Sabbath could be any other Day.

One of the most important reasons why God instituted Sabbath is found in Exodus 31:13 "It is a sign between you and Me throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you".

People often argue unnecessarily about the Sabbath Day. Some say; it's every Saturday, others say, it's Sunday and some others consider Friday as their Sabbath Day. The Sabbath is a sign between you and your God. Whether you worship on Saturday or on Sunday makes no difference. God is more interested in you than the day. The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath. God is more interested in you setting a day apart for you and Him alone. Your worship day makes no difference if you have no day of personal retreat with God. Your worship day makes no difference if you go to church but live like unbelievers. Church service is majorly for cooperate praise and worship, cooperate prayer, cooperate Bible study, encouraging one another in the Lord, building up each other etc but your building and maturing process takes place mostly in the secret place. You and God, one-on-one. Stop the argument because it hasn't helped in anyway, follow the teachings of the Bible with an open heart, stop using head knowledge when it comes to the Bible.

You should have a day set aside for the LORD which could be your personal Sabbath, a sign between you and God which you equally pass on to your generation. That's why Apostle Paul in Colossians 2:15-18 says; "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:

Which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vanity puffed up by his fleshly mind".

Let him who has ear hear what the Spirit is saying.

Your focus should be on Christ who spoiled principalities and powers for you not on shadow of things to come. The church will form a more united force against the enemy if only we can understand this. To those in UAE States, their worship days is on Friday, if you find yourself in such a country wouldn't you go to church because of your sentiment about Sabbath days?

Now, let's go back to our key text in Exodus. According to Bob Sorge; God was saying, "When you set aside a day each week for worship and rest, you are a fragrance to me, separate (sanctified) from all the peoples of the earth. All the other peoples on Earth work hard, seven days a week, trying to get ahead and establish their lot in life. But you are different. You have faith to believe that I can bless you more in six days of labor than the heathen can glean in seven days of labor. Your honoring of the Sabbath is to Me that you believe in My provision, and it's a stunning garment that sets you apart from the strivings of all other peoples of the earth.

The Sabbath is to the week as the secret place is to the day.
Set a day aside for the Lord.

Nevertheless, don't disregard your church service days for any reason but also don't condemn anyone who doesn't worship on service day.
