Topic: All Kinds Of Prayer Or Different Types Of Prayer
Text:- Ephesians 6:18
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people" (Ephesians 6:18 NIV)
Introduction:
In this Bible Prayer Study, we want to list all kinds or different types of prayer that we should know about and practice as believers in Christ and also as a church the body of Christ. We will also learn the scriptural rules that guides each type of prayer so that our prayers can be effective and produce results.
The list include:-
1. Prayer Of Faith or Petition.
Mark 11:24, Matt. 21:22; Rom. 4:17-21
This type of prayer has to do with changing things or asking God to give us the things we need according to His Word. When we pray this kind of prayer, we should not say 'if it is your will' rather we say should say, we believe that we receive what we prayed for according to God's Word and we shall have them.
2. Praying With Tongues or Praying In the spirit.
Tongues is the prayer language of the Spirit given to the believer to pray to God when he/she is baptized with the Spirit. It is our 'Hot Line' to God our Father in Heaven.
Acts 2:1-4; Romans 8:26; Jude 20; 1Cor. 14:14
Praying in Tongues or praying with the spirit is praying in line with God's Perfect Will. Many times when we pray with our mind we are selfish in our prayer but this type of prayer rule that out.
3. Prayer of Worship
Acts 13:1; Acts 16:25; Acts 2:46-47; Acts 5:427; 2 Chron. 20:20 -22.
This type of prayer is the highest form of prayer when we are not asking God to give us or do something for us. Rather, we are telling Him how much we love Him and desire Him.
4.  United Prayer
Acts 4:23 - 31; Acts 16:25 - 26; PS. 133:1-3
This type of prayer is a corporate prayer when everyone present is lifting up their voice together in prayer to God. It releases greater power and anointing upon those who are present and God responds to it promptly.
5. Prayer of Binding And Loosing
Mk. 16:17 - 18; Matt. 18:18; Heb. 1:14.
This is a type of prayer that the believer who is in right standing with God uses the name of Jesus as his/her authority to bind the devil and his demons and command them to desist in their maneuverings and stop in their operations and stand your ground on the Word of God. It is also a type of prayer that we loose the angels to go and minister for us. We also have the authority in prayer to loose the blood of Jesus
6. Prayer of Agreement
Matt. 18:19; Deut. 32:30
This a type of prayer that two believers agree with each other on the basis of God's Word concerning a need to be met or a situation to change by prayer.
7. Prayer of Commitment
 1Pet. 5:7; Ps. 37:5; Eph.6:18; Phil. 4:6-7
This is a type of prayer that we roll the burden of your cares upon the Lord in prayer and leave it there with Him and stop worrying or anxious.
8. Prayer of Intercession
1Tim. 2:1-4; Gen.18:20-27; 28-32; Ezekiel 22:30-31; Rom.8:26-27.
This type of prayer is the prayer that we stand in the gap for a person, a family or a nation in need of salvation or deliverance etc. We intercede against the power of darkness to set them free. This type of prayer is most effective when it is done in tongues.
Conclusion:
These 8 types of prayers listed above are not exhaustive but they are Bible Prayers that every believer should study as individuals or with a group of other believers. Understanding each type and practicing them according to their scriptural rules will bring greater results in our prayer lives.
