ABBREVIATING IN JESUS NAME

ABBREVIATING IN JESUS NAME - A GREAT ERROR

I bring you greetings in Jesus name, Amen! There is a spreading error among believers in Christ Jesus that has quite bothered me. I have been perturbed since the first day I saw it been used by a supposed Christian and it's really spreading like wildfire.

It has become common for people to post prayers on Christian platforms and end it with IJN. Unfortunately, it has become a norm. I wonder how one would take out time to write out lengthy prayers but then finds In Jesus Name too lengthy to be written in full.

I try to ponder over this over and over again, personally, I don't think this abbreviation ideology started from a Spirit filled Christian. The funny thing is that we have become so casual with our walk with the Lord that we allow church goers who profess to be Christians influence those of us who are meant to be the light.

We allow the lost ones in our midst to influence us negatively. If you can easily be influenced by evil then your light is dim. Matthew 5:16 says, Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. So, if your light is not shinning to bring about change where you are and cause people to glorify God then you are living in sin, that's it. 1 John 3:9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

The Word of God is very clear about everything. Romans 6:14 says, Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
We are under God's grace, grace is sufficient and always available. There's no room for sin to keep ruling.

Let's concentrate on our topic for today which is using IJN in the place of In Jesus Name. You that uses this, can you rebuke the devil using IJN? Can you cast out demon using IJN? Can you end your personal prayer using IJN? If your answers to the questions is No, then why do you use it in write ups? Or you think it's just a write up right? Have you forgotten that we will give account of everything we do?

As believers in Christ Jesus, we must know things that are Sacrosanct, even the world recognizes most of these Sacrosanct things and respects it yet we believers make a mess of it. Jesus' name is Sacred and must be used reverently. Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe". The name that saved and saves us, the name that is our foundation, the name that is our strong refuge, the name that heals and delivers us. Is that a name to be abbreviated?
We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Jesus is our perfect example. In Jesus name is not something to be toiled or joked with, it's not something to abbreviate.
Do you think that prayer you ended with IJN will make any impact? How would it if God doesn't recognize it?

It is careless and wrong of us to accept anything the world presents to us. We are the light of the world, that means we are to show the world the path, and the right way.
I don't say Amen to any prayer made using IJN, yes because that prayer is not to God our Father. God can never accept IJN for In Jesus Name. He commanded us to pray in Jesus name not IJN. How can we use acronym for other things for our Jesus?

It is my desire that this message will circulate and go round, and that corrections be made, and if need be ask the Lord for mercy if you have been using IJN. This is not to judge or condemn anybody but to call our attention to something we have ignorantly neglected or probably abused.
The Lord bless you
