Fake Love Has Reasons

Come rain, come sun, I will always love Arsenal, even if we end up not winning the EPL this season, I will still love Arsenal. I don't have any reason for loving Arsenal except that I love Arsenal. I got attracted to Arsenal through Kanu Nwankwo and later Thierry Henry and since then there's nothing Arsenal can do that can stop me from loving Arsenal. The only thing that can stop me from loving Arsenal is if Arsenal begins to compete with God's place in my life or begins to lead me to sin which off course is not possible. The boundary is very clear, nothing competes with the place of God in my life, never!

Just imagine me loving a club I don't own this much, yet I can't compare it to God's love for mankind. It can never be compared to God's love for me and humanity.
God loved us even while we were yet sinners. He loved us when we didn't deserve His love. We did nothing at all to merit His love. When in our sinful nature He loved us. He didn't have a reason, His only reason is that He so loved us. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16.
You can't find where it's written that God loved us because of anything we did or have or can give in exchange, rather we love Him in return because He first loved us.

Does this explain anything about the wicked to you?
Some of us do wonder at times why God spares the wicked and allow them to keep living and doing evil.
God loved you and I while we were yet sinners so that's the exact same love the wicked is enjoying today. Stop wondering why God keeps them alive to carry on with their sinful and wicked ways. Their sin doesn't change God's love for them except that they may eventually perish if they keep rejecting His love. As a father, He is expecting that they will turn away from their evil ways one day and return to Him for forgiveness and He is willing to forgive them.
Now, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 makes more sense to me:
1:If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2:If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3:If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4:Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5:It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6:Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7:It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8:Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Love is beyond giving or praying and fasting for someone. Love is indeed deep. It never fails, it protects and preserves.

When it comes to marriage, don't marry anybody that loves you because of anything, late Myles Munroe puts it this way - Run away from anybody who loves you because of anything you have or for anything you do because that love is conditional, marry someone that loves you unconditionally just as God loves us. True love has no condition attached to it.

God's love (Agape) is unconditional. No reason, no condition, no expectations the only expectation is for you to accept and respond to the love.
This is why God is patient with the wicked.
