CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEDIENCE

Disobedience has a price

There was a man that had two daughters and his two daughters were married. They sojourned in a land wherein they were strangers. The citizens of that land were adulterous. They committed all sorts of sexual perversion except for this man and His household. One day, God decided to destroy the inhabitants of that land but choose to set this man and his household apart because of another man that God loves who was also connected to this man.

Am talking about Lot's family and Abraham.

When the righteous disregards divine instruction, he suffers destruction with the wicked.

Did you know that Lot's daughters had husbands? Lot's life was preserved for Abraham's sake. Genesis 19:29, KJV: "And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt."

Whether you like it or not, there are people you are connected to that are a covering over your life because they are in a good relationship with God. The Angels came to safe Lot and all his household but his sons in law took him for a joker. Genesis19:12-14 King James Version (KJV)

12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:

13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law".

Do you know the consequences of that their action? Destruction! They were destroyed along with others even though God had planned to save them for Abraham's sake. Hope you are learning something here? See! God cannot do for you what you can do for yourself. God cannot provide food for you and still spoon feed you when He has already given you two hands to do that. Lot's wife was another person that was destroyed along others even though she had almost made it but she disobeyed along the way. She looked back and instantly became a pillar of salt. Don't joke with divine instructions, don't disregard any instruction given to you by God either by revelation, the Bible, or through His servants. Be careful to observe every specific instruction for your life.

Many Christians today suffer destruction with the ungodly because they ignored the leading of the Holy Spirit. I strongly believe that some great men of God who died in plane crash wouldn't have died when they did if only they had obeyed His voice. When God warns you but you fail to obey, you expose yourself to the devil and God cannot be blamed for whatever happens in the end. Ignoring the Holy Spirit leads to pain, disappointment, shame, heartbreak, trial and error and in worst case death.

Please, if you want to enjoy the Christian life, always obey the Holy Spirit!
