It is disheartening, demoralising and disgraceful what politicians do especially in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Our future as a country is in dare danger if nothing happens too soon to change the narratives. Would you blame a growing child for stealing if all he has ever witnessed his father do is steal or would blame a child that steals because he/she has been denied food by the parents?🤔. It will only take the grace of God for that child to end up not stealing otherwise he might end up becoming a more terrible thief than the father. Unfortunately, this is the ugly reality we find ourselves in and like I once asked Where are we headed?. Big question that demands answers.
Politicians have scammed us over and over again. Sometimes I wonder how a people could be so heartless and selfish. I don't encourage fraudulent acts because I know that the wages of sin is death but before you rain abuses on that Yahoo guy that calls to probably rob you of money to feed himself, think of the real Yahoo that is using power and office to rob you on a daily basis. Think of the one who uses pen and paper to rob you and still treat you as worthless and without regard, the one who cheats and makes feel that you don't what you know. Think of the one who robs you authoritatively and without leaving a chance for you to choose whether to be robbed or not. Think of the one who thinks of him/herself a Lord over your life.
Politicians in Africa are proven to be wicked and selfish, the system has become so corrupt that even when the righteous stands up in their midst they will use everything to oppress and discourage them. They have wicked means of frustrating the righteous so that only their kind will be in power. Unfortunately, it is not getting any better because corruption has become an institution in Nigeria, there is no way you will stand for what is right in our dear country without stepping on corruption and to do this you must be bold, courageous, ready to be mocked, criticized or even murdered. You can't stand against this institution if you are a men pleaser, you can't stand against this institution if you always think of what people will say.
Should I talk about people like the late Dora Akunyili of the blessed memory the then NAFDAC Director General who stood and fought against this institution but is no where to be found today. When they couldn't kill her physically, then they went spiritual and gave it a name - Cancer. Should I mention Ven. Prof Chinedu Nebo a one time Minister of Power who stood for what is right and meant well for our country during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan but the cabal did everything to frustrate his efforts? Should I talk about roads that have been abandoned because no percentage was given to the person in power? Should I talk about companies that were denied access to operate which would have created employment and development to our dear land but was not granted licence because they refused to settle the person in power?

What about our communities? In my own community here, do you know how many projects have been abandoned because our wicked community rulers demanded for money to be paid to them before the people could do things that will bring about community development and make life more comfortable for the people? Oh! My soul weeps for this Nation! They said the youths are the future of tomorrow but when I consider majority of the youths we have today, I can only pray to God to show us mercy, most youths are compromised, most youths are educated fools. Most of them will do worst if they get to that position except the ones that truly fear God.
Corruption has eaten deep into our system that it is seen even in children and young people. It doesn't get any better because the next person aspiring for one post is going there to take his/her own share of the national cake. Check our public offices, go to institutions and workplaces and see what is going on there, each parastatal is so corrupt.
People who get appointment in public offices lobby to be placed in places where they can easily exploit people before they will do the work they are employed to do. How wicked have we become in this country. How has the devil so possessed our minds and thoughts that we can go to any length to do evil without thinking about the consequences thereof?
So, from my stand I will tell you that our Politicians are the real Yahoo Men and Women. They have robbed us of good roads, good hospitals, good schools, good legacy, good and safe environment, they have robbed us of every food thing the Lord God blessed us with in this land. Our Politicians are worst than that Yahoo buy that calls you on phone or sends text to scam you but painfully only one destination awaits them - Hell Fire. Not one of them will escape so I counsel you to stay away from evil and do good.
Now to we Christians. Has all these not thrived because you have been squeezed into the pattern of the world? What is your place in all these as a Christian Youth, Christian Public Servant or Christian Worker in your Workplace?
It wouldn't be surprising to say that the church has lost its credibility because the supposed church people in workplaces are no different from the others. They also join the bandwagon for dishonest means but what does God expect of us as Christians?
As Christians, God wants us to shine His light wherever we find ourselves. We are the salt of the earth and as the salt we are meant to preserve and give taste, the real taste. God expects us to be:
1. Honesty - People should see honesty in you and learn from you.
2. Refuse to join the multitude in doing evil, make up your mind not to compromise Daniel 1:8
3. See it as God's work and be a faithful steward of Christ 1 Corinthians 4:2
4. Use your work to preach the gospel by letting your light shine in your workplace Matthew 5:16.
5. Know that God will reward you in your own coin Psalms 18:25-26.
6. Fear God so that you will have wisdom Proverbs 1:7
