Why Noah made it

Noah's Success Secret

A verse of the Bible can pass different message to different people at different times in different locations. The Bible is most accurate and dynamic.

Going through the book of Genesis once more, I discovered something that prompted me to write this. Genesis chapter 5 talks about Adam and all his descendants (genealogy). We often jump accounts of genealogy when studying the Bible, most people will tell you that it’s boring but we are expected to read and study all of God’s word because all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable. Going through chapter 5, I discovered something amazing in verse 29 of the said chapter. Genesis 1:29 "And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”
This was indeed the secret to Noah’s success in living a righteous life even while all others were corrupt. When Noah was born, Lamech declared into his future saying; this same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands. Lamech understood that the LORD had cursed the ground but he spoke positively that his child will bring comfort to mankind. Words are indeed powerful and God honours the words of His children just as the devil acts upon every negative word spoken.

As I mused on Genesis chapter 5, I was shocked to discover that men were just giving birth and passing from one generation to another without saying or doing anything to change their situation, none made a declaration into their children’s life until Lamech. We can change Nigeria by words, let’s pray and speak positive change into our land.

In chapter 6 of the same book, it was revealed that it repented God that He had made man and it grieved Him at His heart, they God made up His mind to destroy man and beast. But Noah found grace in sight of the LORD because he was just and perfect in his generations and he walked with God. Why do you think Noah was so different that God considered to spare his life? Though he found grace in the sight of God which is unmerited but we can’t ignore his qualities which were also clearly stated in the same chapter. Noah lived his life the way he did because a word has gone ahead of him, as he grew, he had no other option but align to the word of God which was spoken into his future by his father. Parents, what words have you been speaking into your children’s life? Some parents have never blessed their children but keep pronouncing curses upon curses. Your words are powerful, use them well.
Genesis 8:20-22 "20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
Thus, words of Lamech never failed for Noah found grace and him, his household with other living creatures were preserved and God lifted the curse. Who knows what the story would have been without Noah? The secret to Noah’s success was that his father projected into his future and as a result he found grace before God.
