WHY ORDINARY FOOD WILL LEAD PEOPLE TO HELL

I bring you greetings once again in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

This burden has been heavy in my heart for sometime now but I've been trusting the Lord for the right words. 

I have come to discover that why some problems remain the way we met them is because those who see it as evil failed to speak up because of fear. Racism was striving in football as long as people kept quiet, but the moment footballers started reacting to it, policies and anti-racism sensitization started taking place, it may not have been fully wiped out but for us who watch football, we know it has really reduced.

Far from it, am not here to talk about racism nor football but one common and very important thing called "FOOD". How is it possible for ordinary food to lead people to hell? 🤔

Please Note: This is not something to blame pastors for because just like the Apostles didn't know about the discrimination in food distribution they also don't know what is happening unless they are informed. Let's speak up each time we see evil. Let's curse the root immediately.

There is an evil that is thriving in our gatherings. It is happening everywhere, the only place I've seen exception to what am about to talk about is "Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Kumasi  Ghana". 

As common as food is, it can cause division in the body of Christ. Let's consider Acts 6:1 "But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food".

This discrimination that started in the early church and was immediately addressed and corrected has entered our churches and fellowships today, unfortunately it hasn't been addressed. It is so painful to observe that you attended  a Christian gathering and when food is been served the servers serve based on familiarity. They serve some persons specially and rarely serve others. You are sitting on the same row or table with others, one receives a special treatment and the other is neglected. You go for a national church program, those serving serve their branch members specially and discriminate others in their serving of food yet we claim to be in the same household of faith.

What about those assigned to cook the meals who use less ingredients to prepare the food so that they can reserve some of the ingredients for themselves? It breaks my heart each time I see and observe things like this among believers. How about those who will take several portions for themselves not minding if every other person has eaten?

What about the servers who takes food to reserve for some of their family members who didn't make it to the program while those in the program have not all been served or had food to eat?

All these are wicked and unjust practices which shouldn't be mentioned amongst us. It is smelling so bad.

I felt so ashamed when someone told me that he didn't like the way my people were distributing food, that they were looking at faces before serving and he was really angry. I didn't know what to say or even how to defend it because I know he was speaking the truth. Seriously, it is embarrassing, especially when you are told that where you went to preach the gospel. Imagine the embarrassment, and if the Lord has positioned that soul to be won, such attitude chases the person away.

So many of us are offending God because of food. How terrible would it be that what will stand against you or I in the last day is how you and I distributed food that you and I will eat today and shit out tomorrow? Food that is not ours in the first place. Food meant for people that are in the meeting, gathering or occasion.

1 Corinthians 6: 13 You say, “Food was made for the stomach, and the stomach for food.” (This is true, though someday God will do away with both of them.) But you can’t say that our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies. 

God will do away with both of them someday. Let's be just and fair even in our distribution of food.

When you go to some camps, you will discover that the food served campers are different from the ones the organisers, cookers and executives eat. The type of tea campers are served, is different from the one workers drink.  What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. Let's treat others the way we would love to be treated. Matthew 7: 12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

What about those in charge of sharing gifts to everyone that attended an occasion? Have you seen what they do? The gift will never reach you that doesn't have any personal relationship with them but some of them will leave with 10 packs of such gifts or even more and everyone they know will get an extra gift for the people at home while people whom the gift packs were meant to be given to are looked down on.

Please, the Lord is calling our attention to this, don't drive people away from God's house with this bad attitude. Don't cause division and rumbling because of ordinary food and gift packs. 

I like the fact that in some SU Camps, community leaders eat with their students. I ate with my community members throughout the LVC, same soup, same rice, same tea, there was no special food or treatment for me as a pilgrim or something like that. Wetin students eat na him community leaders dey eat. If e no good for you then it's also not good for the students.

Those who work in the kitchen during camp should examine themselves. How do you cook the food we eat? The tea you serve us and the students is it the same quality with the one you drink? If you use less ingredients so that you can reserve some of those ingredients for yourselves God sees and He will reward. 

God is calling us to be guided.
