Add these to your Virginity

One of the rarest things in our society today is keeping one's virginity till marriage. It is become almost too impossible to see people who marry or will marry as virgins and this is due to the rate of moral decline in the society. The moral conscience of the society has so decayed that I fear for the younger generation.

Some persons even have the opinion that there are no more virgins but that's not true, I can confidently tell you that there are still enough virgins from both genders because God never lacks His children in any generation no matter how corrupt that generation might become.

God still have people, and yet there are some virgins that are not even Christians but just morally sound and there are virgins that are not sexually pure because sexual purity is also of the heart and not just of the act. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 5:28 "But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart".

So, you see that its possible to be a Virgin by not commiting sexual immorality physically but you are sexually impure in your heart and you are seriously commiting fornication and adultery in your heart and no impure person will see God.

When we talk about keeping one's virginity people often refer to the feminine gender forgetting that God instructs both male and female to keep themselves sexually pure. Sexual Purity is not a gender thing but a godly virtue.

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

This Bible verse didn't say a female should flee but instructs everyone to flee.

Nevertheless, there is a rising concern in character decline even as the society is morally declining. One can find a virgin today with zero or bad character, lazy and not ready to do anything. The only thing they brag about is their virginity.

Virginity without a noble character is catastrophic in nature.

A young man that brags about keeping himself for his wife but can't work to provide for the family is a liability waiting for who to use as an insurance for the rest of his life, run from such. A lady that keeps her virginity but lacks noble character is a time bomb waiting to explode.

What do you have aside your virginity? Please don't forget that virginity isn't something you worked for, it's not something you should brag about because you ought to keep yourself until your wedding night and surrender yourself to your spouse alone. "Am a virgin is not something that should swell my head because I was created and born a virgin".

In as much as marrying as virgins is what God expects of us, virginity should never cover for bad character, laziness, selfishness and waywardness.

Keep your Virginity but also add the following virtues to your virginity:

Be Outstanding

Be Excellent

Be Virtuous

Be Hardworking

Have noble character

Be the Proverbs 31 Woman and stop using virginity as your only strong point, that once it's taken you are nothing and for the man, be responsible, be accountable, be a gardener not a hunter. Virginity is not an award so stop making it seem like one. It is a command to keep yourself sexually pure. Marrying as a virgin sure has its numerous advantages but it's not the only prerequisite for ensuring a good marriage and a godly home.

Perhaps you have lost your virginity due to rape, ignorance, lack of self control, circumstances beyond your control or whatever the case maybe, it is not the end of the world, God loves you just the way you are and He is interested in your now. You can decide to live a sexually pure life onwards till you get married. Don't let anybody use their virginity to make you feel less human but don't also take pride in living in immorality because God abhors it. You are loved!
