2 The Gazites were told, Samson has come here. So they surrounded the place and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city. They were quiet all night, saying, In the morning, when it is light, we will kill him.
3 But Samson lay until midnight, and [then] he arose and took hold of the doors of the city’s gate and the two posts, and pulling them up, bar and all, he put them on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that is before Hebron.
Manoah's wife was barren until an angel of God appeared to her and told her that she will conceive and bear a son. The angel equally instructed her on what to eat and what not to eat because the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb. Wow! What a privileged child! The woman obeyed and followed every instruction but Samson grew up to choose a wrong path that was contrary to God's plan for his life. It is not enough to know that you were born to be great but putting in every effort to become great, will make you great. When you find yourself in the wrong place as a result of allowing your flesh have rule over you, you start channelling your God given abilities to the wrong cause. Samson's strength was not for pulling gate and carrying it, God gave him strength to defeat the Philistines. Honestly, some of us are using our God given abilities in the wrong direction because we've allowed our flesh have rule over us.
Return, before it's too late!
Prayer: Lord, give me grace to always walk in the Spirit so that I won't fulfill the lust of the flesh.
