Envy is a very dangerous trait that shouldn't be identified with anyone. Who can stand it?
Proverbs 27:4 says; "Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous: but who can stand before envy?"(KJV).
Message puts it this way; "We're blasted by anger and swamped by rage, but who can survive jealousy?".
Envy is a dangerous ground, don't tread it because you won't survive it.
Wrath means great anger, it is cruel and leads one to blast others. Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure, hostility or antagonism towards someone or something usually combined with an urge to harm. (Definition from English Dictionary). You can imagine what great anger can do. So, anger is kid brother to wrath for wrath is not just anger but great anger. They are outrageous and cruel. Let's look up the meaning of this two words.
Outrageous: Cruel, violating morality or decency; provoking indignation or affront. Fierce, violent.
Cruel: Not nice; mean; heartless.
Wow! This shows you how bad these are, but envy is even worst, it's more outrageous, more cruel and very deceptive. The worst thing about it is that you might be living or working with an envious person without knowing except God shows you mercy and they are exposed before you.
The Bible says; who can stand envy? It is that bad.
Envy means hatred, enmity, ill-feeling. To feel displeasure or hatred towards someone for their good fortune or possessions. To have envious feelings without a justified cause.
In my own words; Envy is you hating someone who did nothing to deserve hatred from you and you go all out to hurt the person over and over again while pretending to be a friend. Envy is a dangerous disease.
Anger and wrath is far better than envy because both can be triggered by someone's action towards you and with time you can forgive and move on but envy is not triggered by anyone except by one's selfish and envious motives towards another and it often leads to self destruction.

Envy can destroy, envy can kill, evil can set people on fire without minding that they perish.
Unfortunately; Envy never makes the envious person more successful, envy leads to self destruction, envy is not a godly trait. In fact, envy is of the devil for the Bible never said; "Be ye envious and sin not". Please my beloved, don't get entangled in this dangerous trait, avoid it with everything you've got because life is what you make it. Your thoughts are not in control of you, you are rather in control of your thoughts. What you allow in, is what comes out. Please be guided and as Proverbs 4:23 rightly said; "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life".
Prayer:
Father, preserve my life from envious people.
May they be exposed before they can cause me harm.
Let my life be precious in your sight and may no evil come to me via envy in Jesus in name, Amen.
