Ham was Never Cursed

We often hear people preach or say that Ham was cursed and the curse was passed to his generation but is that what the Bible truly says? Yes! Ham wronged his father but Noah never cursed Ham neither did he curse his generation. Noah cursed Canaan Ham's son for Ham's evil. One would wonder why one man committed an offense and his innocent son was cursed for it.. Honestly, I can't explain that but I believe Noah had his reason for doing so even though his reason is not reasonable enough for me to comprehend.

I have come to learn that we must learn to study God's Word by ourselves and for ourselves so that we can rightly divide the word of truth because we make a lot of mistakes by going with what we were taught or the stories we were told. We should learn to always go back to the Bible to see things ourselves.

It's not possible to talk about a Bible personality without referring to the Bible. Let's go to the beginning of the books. Genesis 9:22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was naked and went outside and told his brothers. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a robe, held it over their shoulders, and backed into the tent to cover their father. As they did this, they looked the other way so they would not see him naked.
24 When Noah woke up from his stupor, he learned what Ham, his youngest son, had done. 25 Then he cursed Canaan, the son of Ham:
“May Canaan be cursed!
May he be the lowest of servants to his relatives.”

26 Then Noah said,
“May the Lord, the God of Shem, be blessed,
and may Canaan be his servant!
27 May God expand the territory of Japheth!
May Japheth share the prosperity of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.”
'Then he cursed Canaan', the son of Ham.

He did not curse Ham. Ham sinned but Canaan his last son was cursed, and Canaan wasn't the only son of Ham, so one person's generation was cursed not Ham's generation.

Ham had 4 sons. Genesis 10:6 The descendants of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

Canaan carried the curse, the rest were exempted. So it was Canaan's generation not Ham's generation because Ham had other children.

If you follow the Bible history of these cities, you will notice that they never really pleased God and we're often destroyed because they are of the cursed lineage.

Innocent Canaan carried a curse he didn't bring upon himself to his innocent self and generation.
Parents, please don't bring curse upon your innocent children.

Now, let's come home. People often say that Africa is suffering because of the curse. But Africa is not of Canaan's descendants so how can the curse be affecting us?
Genesis 10:6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan.
7:The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
8:Cush was the father of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth.
vs:15 Canaan’s oldest son was Sidon, the ancestor of the Sidonians. Canaan was also the ancestor of the Hittites, 16 Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, 17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 18 Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites. The Canaanite clans eventually spread out, 19 and the territory of Canaan extended from Sidon in the north to Gerar and Gaza in the south, and east as far as Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, near Lasha.
20 These were the descendants of Ham, identified by clan, language, territory, and national identity.

Africa originated from Ham not Canaan and Canaan was cursed not Ham.
We are not of the cursed generation, let's stop making excuses for our suffering that is as a clear result of selfishness and wickedness.
