Shave it or Cover it

The world is gradually taking over the church instead of the church taking over the world. It's amazing how the church/church people are easily influenced by worldliness and worldly fashions. One would wonder what is really happening among believers. We just want to do everything that suits our flesh.

I have been trusting God to pass this message correctly. Please, I just want us to careful consider the Scriptures and interpret it with all sincerity and trust God to apply it to our lives just the way it is because those who walk in disobedience always quote the scriptures to suit their disobedience. We intentionally ignore the part that is piercing our heart on a particular matter and move to another part that is pleasing to us. This is not how to be a Christian. A Christian is Christ-like and if Christ-like then you must obey God because Jesus obeyed the Father. You can't be like Christ while you keep walking in disobedience.

God has a template, when we come to Him we walk on His template not ours.

Now to my concern for today:

1 Corinthians 11 ESV

1:Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

2:Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.

3:But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

4:Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head,

5:but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven.

6:For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.

Most of Apostle Paul's saying are hard and somewhat difficult to understand but his sayings here are very clear, very clear that one needs no extra interpretation to understand it. The head of the man is Christ and the head of a woman is her husband, a woman praying with head uncovered dishonours her head (husband) not forgetting that the husband also has a head (Christ). Now he says, if you won't cover your head, then cut your hair and if it disgraceful for a woman to cut her hair then let her cover her head. Your hair is on your head, keep that in mind as we proceed further.

Now let's jump to verses 13-15, because verse 15 is where the devil has held those who wants to disobey captive (am sorry but that's the truth).

13:Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered?

The apostle calls us to judge for ourselves, can't you see that it is not proper, even nature teaches us that a woman should cover her head when she's praying.

14:Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him,

The same nature makes it clear that a man who wears long hair is a disgrace. How do you feel when you see a man wearing long hair? It doesn't fit any man neither does it anyway bring him beauty or glory. So, to get us to understand this better Apostle Paul points to a woman's long hair.

15:but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.

Nature also teaches that a woman's long hair brings her glory. Hair is a woman's beauty, natural glory and beauty from our heavenly Father. Don't forget that he was giving example about covering the head while praying, then he called to how a man should carry himself and a woman.

Then he says that the woman's hair is given to her for a covering because nature made it so, God designed it so. What he said here does not in anyway nullify what he has been saying since about a woman covering her head and if you won't cover your head then shave your hair.

May the peace of the Lord be with us. If you disagree, just go back to the Scriptures with an open mind and read from different translations.

If you say the the woman's hair is her covering so she shouldn't cover her head, Apostle Paul already knows that a woman naturally has long hair which is her natural covering and glory, since he knows that, why did he say that a woman who prays with her head uncovered dishonours her head? Why is he asking us of what nature itself teaches? Why did he mention that if a woman will not cover her head then she should shave it? If the hair was a head cover in worship why would he say you should cover it or shave ? He wouldn't have have even brought it up. He could have just said the woman's hair is her covering. Simple!

I mean this is so simple except that we just want to walk in disobedience to satisfy the flesh.
