Why is it best to remain Unmarried

We started studying 1 Corinthians 7 since on Saturday and it has been a great time with the Lord but some salient questions where left unanswered in my heart and for which I really desired to find answers. So, while we continued the reading today in our Daily Guide, we considered verse 25-40 of the above chapter and Topic is: Serving The Lord With Undivided Devotion and the question to consider is question 7 which says what truth is God revealing to me in this passage?

I have been on this study for over 2 hours, even slept off at some point but I needed to get it right today because honestly speaking, this is one of the passages I heard on to very firmly in life when I newly got saved. I believed marriage was a big distraction so I shouldn't even think about getting married so I could faithfully serve the Lord as a single lady without distractions. 

But today, I decided to dig deeper in my study and I started making findings which geared up when I read verse 25-26 again and this time it said something it has always said but I never paid attention to, "25 Now regarding your question about the young women who are not yet married. I do not have a command from the Lord for them. But the Lord in his mercy has given me wisdom that can be trusted, and I will share it with you. 26 Because of the present crisis, I think it is best to remain as you are".

That verse 26 left a big question in my heart, what was the present crisis in Corinth at that time? Because this was Apostle Paul's specific answer to specific questions that were specific to Corinthians Christian at that time and by the Spirit of the Lord he counseled them to suit their present time and crisis.  Since I needed to know what crisis he referred to, I decided to make further research and I was truly amazed and blessed by the findings from a Study Bible online.
