God doesn't want us to accuse people but we should rather rebuke evil or evil doers.
One thing accusation does is that it shifts the blame always, accusation will not let us see our own fault even when we are at fault but you can't be faulty at a thing and still rebuke that thing - absolutely impossible.
No wonder the devil is an accuser of the brethren. He cannot rebuke or resist any believer so he plays mind game by accusing you and once you accept his accusations, he has you where he wants you. No wonder those who are for the devil behave just like him.
Please follow me as I share what the Lord taught me this morning while studying the book of Jude.
Let's visit Jude from verse 8: In the same way, these people—who claim authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings. 9 But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.) 10 But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction. (NLT)
Verse 9 hit me differently, and it is from this same verse that the Lord started teaching me a lot on accusation and rebuke this morning and am sharing same with you. It hit differently that even Michael did not dare accuse the devil, instead he rebuked him. Did you see that in verse 9? You can go back and look at it again. Is it that Micheal can't accuse the devil? He can but he dared not accuse him, not out of fear but out of understanding of who he is and what he carries. He knew that accusation will prolong the argument because the devil will always argue.
Accusation will give room for explanation but rebuke puts an end to the rubbish. Like, I don't need your own explanation, I know that what you did or doing is wrong, so stop it now!
This could also be the reason why a lot of Christians are suffering in the hands of the devil. Why do I say so? So many times we see believers accusing the devil for so many things in their life. They accuse the devil for being responsible for their failures, their delays, their sufferings and what have you and our God is not interested in all those accusations because accusations give the devil a bargaining right. When you accuse the devil you have invited him for a bargain. Do you not know that each time people appear in court, there is always an accuser and a defender? God has given us the power to rebuke the devil and until we stop accusing him and learn to rebuke him we might never possess our possession.
Let me put it this way, when a matter is in the law court, maybe dispute over a land or property, as long as the court is still seating over that matter, nobody has access to the property till the court decides. Do you get it now?
Our case is different because God has already ruled in our favour, all He says to us is go there and take over, you don't need to negotiate or discuss with the devil. Don't go and tell him so you have been the one sitting on my blessing and I've been suffering, go tell him, Devil - get out of my blessing, get out in Jesus name and possess your possession.
No wonder the Bible says in James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
To Resist is closely related to Rebuke. The Bible didn't say accuse the devil, that's why Micheal didn't bother accusing him because he doesn't have any case to discuss with him, he firmly rebuked him, that's all. I hope someone will understand what the Lord is saying to us today. I hope you will understand and take your stand by resisting and rebuking the devil and stop the accusation game. Don't even give him the room to prolong the argument, be firm like Micheal.
The passage was actually addressing the ungodly and their fate but from it God taught me something for me as a faithful believer, I hope you learnt something. God bless you.
