Types of Marriage
1. Neglected marriage

5. Broken marriage : Broken marriage is where the husband sleeps with maids while the wife sleeps with deacons. Children are born from different men.
6. The troubled marriage: Troubled marriage is where couples begin to wish their spouses death for their freedom.
7. The wrong marriage : This is marriage that is based on lies, on flesh, on self will, on physical wealth and not on God's leading.
8. Ministry is his business : Ministry is his business marriage - a case where the pastor concentrates on the ministry and ignores his wife. His wife is in church but she is not part of the church.
9. The wife is the breadwinner marriage : The wife brings the major part of the funds and carries the family burdens marriage - this can bring about weariness on the person doing the work and hostility from the other partner.
10. When both couples work outside
11. The growing marriage : in this type of marriage, divorce is not an option. This marriage is not perfect but is heading towards perfection.
12. The pastoral Marriage
How to nurture pastoral Marriage:
1. Use ministry to draw your marriage closer. Have the habit of sharing your thoughts and experiences together. Talk about the ministry more together. Talk about your challenges, temptations, and fears, talk more together.
2. Live by scriptural and spiritual principles. Live by what you teach, practice forgiveness, practice intimacy, practice what you teach your congregation.
3. Put marriage on your calendar - put your wife in your calendar and plan to seat back with her together for relaxation not only fasting.
Preplan sex - discuss about having sex with each other before leaving the house. Plan your sex life, don't just come over and say let's do it. Send text messages to remind each other of your plan for the day.
4. Have small group of pastors you account to. Don't just stand alone, have a father and people you are accountable to.
5. Spot warning signals- be proactive and preventive regarding issues in your home. Don't keep late nights, don't be extravagant. Plan the graduation of female maids you have lived with that have grown and become matured in your home. When your wife complains about being uncomfortable with any female that comes around you, take it seriously. Carry her along in counseling sisters.
6. Live a repentant life - asking for grace and mercy for yourself should be a way of life.
7. Improve your marriage by making a new commitment to each other regularly.
